MEANINGLESS GOALS

A farmer had a dog who used to sit by the roadside waiting for vehicles to come around. As soon as one came he would run down the road, barking and trying to overtake it. One day a neighbor asked the farmer "Do you think your dog is ever going to catch a car?" The farmer replied, "That is not what bothers me. What bothers me is what he would do if he ever caught one." Many people in life behave like that dog who is pursuing meaningless goals.

SMART Goals

If you ask most people what is their one major objective in life, they would probably give you a vague answer, such as, "I want to be successful, be happy, make a good living," and that is it. They are all wishes and none of them are clear goals.

Goals must be SMART:

1. S--specific. For example, "I want to lose weight." This is wishful thinking. It becomes a goal when I pin myself down to "I will lose 10 pounds in 90 days."

2. M--must be measurable. If we cannot measure it, we cannot accomplish it. Measurement is a way of monitoring our progress.

3. A--must be achievable. Achievable means that it should be out of reach enough to be challenging but it should not be out of sight, otherwise it becomes disheartening.

4. R--realistic. A person who wants to lose 50 pounds in~30 days is being unrealistic.

5. T--time-bound. There should be a starting date and a finishing date.

IT IS THE LITTLE THINGS THAT MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE

There was a man taking a morning walk on the beach. He saw that along with the morning tide came hundreds of starfish and when the tide receded, they were left behind and with the morning sun rays, they would die. The tide was fresh and the starfish were alive. The man took a few steps, picked one and threw it into the water. He did that repeatedly. Right behind him there was another person who couldn't understand what this man was doing. He caught up with him and asked, "What are you doing? There are hundreds of starfish. How many can you help? What difference does it make?" This man did not reply, took two more steps, picked up another one, threw it into the water, and said, "It makes a difference to this one."

The RickshawWallas...

Amongst the hullabaloo of Mumbai traffic where the cars, motorbikes, taxis, buses and the rickshaws make their existence felt, the most worst are the Rickshaw drivers and the bus drivers. It seems both are at an edge of war with a same motive, "I WILL CHOOSE MY OWN PASSENGERS", they don't wait, they don't want you to alight or they don't want you to get down either, I sometimes wonder what would go wrong if they would wait for a second or two more.
Well taking about RickshawWallahs, we all are facing the same problem everyday these rickshawWallahs don't want to travel to short distance, they just bluntly say no and few of them just ignore us as if they are the one who are ruling the transport industry and we are their loyal servants. Indeed now are the times where we actually feel happy and delighted when we get an auto rickshaw, such were the times when we never bothered getting out of the house thinking we would never get an auto, you stand out of your house and there were rickshaws lined up in front of you to take you where ever you want to go whether short distance or long whether you want to get in to the colony premises or just outside your building entrance. Why ?? is the question you and me ask everyday, what have we done that we have to face such a situation, don't they understand our plight, we might get late for work, someone must be in an emergency ,there are people who may be getting late for their job interviews, people may have to reach to various other destinations they may have to catch flights and trains, are they so INHUMAN that they can't understand such basic importance of time.. on top of it they like arguing with us for unnecessary things..
On the other side when we all were facing such problems one newspaper i.e. "THE MID DAY" along with a radio staion called "radio ONE" took up the initiative of bringing these RicksawWallah to their senses and to help create public awareness amongst us, they went with their petition to THE RTO of Mumbai and told them our plight, the Mumbai traffic police took up the initiative, they appointed various of their officers everywhere especially places which seem to be more crowded especially areas like andheri, santacruz, bandra etc. The reporters of Mid day would go to various rickshawWallah and approach them and if they denied the reporters would make complaints against them and the police officer would register complaints against them and they would confiscate the drivers license and he would have to shell out money from his pocket for fines. After nearly 4 days the number of rickshawWallahs have improved but still there are many others who haven't learn their lessons. I would like to give a suggestion to everyone of you, The Traffic Police of Mumbai is taking the initiative of helping us out kindly please help yourself and others, Create Awareness, tell other people to realize their RIGHT to Object and Complaint, If a NEWSPAPER can take the initiative we are the public of this democratic country lets become one and fight against injustice and raise our voices together like ONE..We have to fight our own battle..kindly make the right choice..
Thank you guys for reading my blogs and kindly please feel free to post your comments on my blog.. thank you !!!

P.S.: in order to register your complaints against the rickshawWallahs kindly dial 022-24937755.

Films Review : Badmaash Company

Finally after a long season of IPL and examination fever, The Bollywood is back on it's toes with big releases like Housefull, Badmaash Company, Kites, Raavan, Rajneeti and many more mega blockbusters..
Talking about movies that have already released we have today YASHRAJ PRODUCTION's BADMAASH COMPANY in the limelight. The Movie is directed by debutant but veteran actor Parmeet Sethi who had made his debut in th SuperHit and still running Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.
Badmaash Company is a story of four friends - Karan kapoor (Shahid) , Bulbul singh (Anushka),
Zing (Meiyang Chang) and Chandu (Vir Das) who end up doing few odd jobs to fullfill their short term goals. Karan gets an idea that strikes the gold and along with his three other friends end up doing all wrong things in a very planned and a systematic manner and their business "FRIENDS & CO" becomes an instant hit.Eventually the lust for money which brought them together as a team, only tears them apart.
Even though the story is nothing different than what we have seen in many movies before but the director makes it more realistic, reliable and believable by looking after the details of the characterization and the script. Along with the Script even the Dialogues, the screenplay the camera work, sound and cinematography is efficient. Talking about the music Pritam has composed some really good humming tunes. "Ayaashi ", "Chaska" even "Jingle Jingle" is nice composition along with "Fakira" which is very well shot fits the bill and the situation.
Vir Das was good at what he did ,if made right selection of movies can surely do wonders, Meiyang chang the indian idol 3 finalist has given a spellbound performance as a debutant, Anupam Kher is and has always been at his best performance in all his movies,It's a treat to watch the scenes between him and shahid, Pawan Malhotra was cool and Kiran Juneja Sippy though hardly had a meaty role was a delight to watch when she prounces 'soojan' instead of "susan" who is a receptionist.
Although the movie had many positive points , it also has some negative traits, The movie was not well promoted since it a crime and con men based script, the movie looses its pace at few in between intervals, Shahid kapoors narration at some point goes to overboard and is not required at all times..
Finally, as a debutant director we would like to welcome Parmeet sethi as newbie in the list of Bollywood Directors and I am sure he would come up with a better well promoted script to make his name in this Industry, the movie is yet an entertainer , fun fresh movie that wants to entertain us,the movie never ends up insulting your intelligence, something Parmeet sethi should be applauded for, in the end lets wish the movie success and it's director double success..
Thats it from me on this movie I will be back with a new movie next Friday till then keep watching the movies and keep reading my blog...
